candycane asked:

I just read someone elses question about sinus pressure and she seemed to be experiencing the same thing. Even sore neck, which made me to believe it was tension headache. Any more ideas?
I don’t have a stuffy nose or anythigng that would seem to accompany sinus. It’s just the headache. I’ve tried the sinus rinse before and it hasn’t done anything. There are 3 differnet Doctors who have allt old me it’s Sinus, that it’s just trapped up there…so I’m going to try the tea thing. I tried the hot compress on my face and head but it didn’t work :(

    Hi CandyCane

THis recipe will clear the issue.

    Recipe:Tomato Tea Cures

Spicy Tomato Tea: The #1 Remedy To Cure Severe Sinus Congestion

Writes Jean, “After drinking this tea hot, your sinus congestion will disappear REAL fast! All these ingredients not only work on the immediate symptoms, but also add vitamin C to fight a cold and garlic to fight infection.”

Add 1 cup tomato juice, 1 tsp chopped fresh garlic, 1/2 tsp of hot sauce, 1 tsp lemon juice, and a pinch or two of celery salt for flavor. Heat ingredients and drink hot.

6/8/2006: Jean writes us again: “Really delighted that the tomato recipe is working so well for so many people. :) The reason I picked these ingredients is this: tomato and lemon juices for their high vitamin C content, hot sauce for its ability to clear out the sinuses, and garlic for its anti-bacterial qualities. In addition, all of these ingredients have many other properties that are extremely good for the body’s ability to heal itself. If you also add worcestershire sauce and celery salt, you have a bloody mary without the vodka! :) The reason for heating it is obvious… the fumes from the hot sauce work their way farther into your sinuses, carrying the fumes of the anti-bacterial garlic with it. I drink this even when I’m not sick, as I love the taste. :)

11/7/2006: Jean writes: “Amended for greater effectiveness: The first 4 ingredients are well-known serious herbals for their medicinal properties… Used together they can do wonders for sinus/ear infections, colds, coughing and sore throat. I’ve even found it to kill flu germs.

2 cups tomato or V8 juice
    1 tablespoon fresh garlic
As much hot sauce or cayenne pepper as you can stand
    1 tablespoon lemon juice

VERY IMPORTANT: Drink it HOT and SIP … This sends the bacteria killing fumes into your sinus passages.

Note: Adding celery salt and a dash of worcestershire sauce make it taste like a bloody mary.

Three mistakes I’m seeing in the people who say it didn’t work very well…

    1. Get as close to the ingredients listed as possible… When you feel better, go buy the real thing. It WILL make a difference.

    2. Drink as much as you can as often as you can until you are SURE the infection is gone. This is past the time when you “feel better.”

    3. Drink it HOT and SLOWLY, so you get those fumes going up into your sinuses. This mix is highly anti-bacterial and will KILL the infection.

Let me recount a story of my own from last year. My own 17 year old son didn’t believe this would help and doesn’t care much for tomato juice, so he didn’t want to give this a chance. For about 7 months, he had my ex-husband continually running him back and forth to the doctor for one antibiotic after another and a host of other medicines trying to get rid of chronic sinus/ear infections. He was miserable. It just kept coming back. He finally decided to give my tomato tea an honest test. Within a week of using it regularly and sipping it HOT, the infections were gone totally, and haven’t returned. That was about 8 months ago.

Tomato and lemon juices for their high vit C, hot sauce and garlic to clear out the sinuses and kill the obnoxious bacteria. These ingredients have many other properties extremely good for the body’s ability to heal itself. The reason for heating is obvious… the fumes work their way up into the sinuses, carrying the germ-killing fumes with it.

I drink this even when I’m not sick, as I love the taste. Really delighted that the tomato recipe is working so well for so many people. :)

Oh one more thing to add… Drinking this tomato tea regularly when NOT sick, will kill the germs before they can make you sick!”

    Best of health to you

Hot Compresses on your face, where the pressure is. Vicks Vapor Rub on your throat, it will bring the vapors to your nose. Add a breathe right nasal strip. Take Tylenol Sinus. Have hot chicken broth..there are many things you can do.

Try lying down with a warm washcloth over your eyes to help relieve some of the pressure. If you are able to go out and get one, I highly reccomend a sinus mask. I have one that puts pressure on the sinuses that relieves the pressure I feel. I don’t know how it does it, but it works, and it was the best ten dollars ever spent. So if you can go get one, do. But if you need immediate relief, try the washcloth. Best of luck.

I used to have headaches every day. I had sore shoulders, a sore neck and a lot of pressure behind my eyes. I bought some Peppermint essential oils on ebay and I’ve been putting a few drops in my bath tub every time I get a headache. After soaking in the tub for 20 minutes or so, my headache is gone and I am completely relaxed! My sore, tense muscles feel great just from a few drops of oil. I heard it worked, but I didn’t think it would work this well INSTANTLY. You should really try it! Lavender helps out a lot too.

Sudafed is the best (hopefully this is the one you didn’t try.) Also
Put a towel over your head, at the bathroom sink let the hot water run so it will get steamy and so you breath in steam clears it for awhile. Or get a humidifier put vicks in it while you sleep. This has been a very bad summer for lots of allergy sufferers. Get the nose strips they sell at the drug stores. helps some too. You need a allergist or a nose throat doctor. check out great answers there.

  6. Sinus Pressure Says:

go to your pharmacy/drug store and purchase a netipot (which was featured in Oprah by Dr. Oz) and use a saline solution (which you can purchase with it) to drain your blocked sinus.

A combo of sudafed (every 4 hours for a couple days straight) with a nasal decongestent spray usually does the trick. If it continues, you may need an antibiotic and or allergy med. Also soaking in a hot vapor bath helps or the use of a suana if you have access. Good luck, I know how badly sinus pain can hurt!
