It doesn’t hurt all the time. It just feels like a balloon or something expanding every now and then putting pressure on just one side of my nose. Anyone have any clue what it might be?

Sinus Pressure
You felt like that because there’s edema of soft tissue / soft tissue swelling + accumulation of trapped mucus — general sign/symptoms of sinusitis.
That’s why doctor always give decongestant, anti inflamation (corticosteroid or NSAID) – antihistamine & antibiotic (sometimes, depend on whatever causing infection).
If you haven’t seen your doctor, try to use some hot compresses on your nose side and take decongestant, it’ll help a while.
Good luck.

Sinus Pressure
It could be chronic sinusitis. I suffer from this ever few months. Pressure and pain causes the sinus cavity to swell up and taking sinus medicine did help me but now they stopped making sinus meds that help. Its a shame they didn’t make it a prescription so this way millions of sinus sufferers could feel better taking the medicine no longer made. The new meds to nothing to remove the pressure and pain. sorry you are going thru this as it happened to me ten years ago when I got a bad cold my doctor told me I would suffer from pressure and pain from sinusitis.

Sinus Pressure
It can also be the weather. The barometric pressure outside can cause sinus pressure as well.
