A saline solution for a nose spray and she should drink plenty of water. Doctors refuse to treat sinus infections with antibiotics because studies have shown that they do not cure the infection any faster than the immune system works. This leads to superbugs that are immune to antibiotics.
So, tylenol (panadol) for the pain, plenty of water, avoid milk and orange juice as they increase mucus production, and saline spray. Saline sprays are available over the counter and what the doctor recommends for infants. There is also something called the netti pot that one can buy to help flush out the sinuses with warm water and salt.
Another trick is to eat garlic. Garlic is a powerful food that will clear out nasal passages in minutes. I recommend putting as much as one can stand into some chicken noodle soup. The result should take effect in 5-10 mins.
The last 3 times I went to the doctor with a sinus infection, I was sent away empty handed due to superbug concerns so these are remedies that I’ve found that work.

Infection usually indicates that you need an antibiotic. Tell your friend to see a doctor
