I have taken mucinex and coughed up and spit up phlegm, but my daughter like you puked it up. She pretty much choked on it and then began vomiting. So I think it is a normal response for some. The best thing is you got the snot loose and out. Now keep drinking lots of fluid to keep yourself hydrated. The active ingredient in mucinex is Guaifenesin. See the below link to read more on the effects of mucinex.

OMG! My dad takes mucinex. He says that this is perfectly normal. It means its working well. Your body doesnt want all the mucus inside you so that is its way of getting rid of it!! Hope you feel better!!!

not the mucinex if it wasn't phlegm. if you are sick, you shouldn't be eating that kind of food. stick with the chicken broth & jello.

No, that is not a normal response to Mucinex. It sounds like the pizza may have been bad.

Try chicken soup for your next meal. It has restorative properties which have been documented by science, although nobody knows exactly how it works. It is also easier on your stomach.
