Saline sprays are generally safe to use any time. They are basically salt (saline) and water. If you’re in doubt as to whether your saline spray has any chemicals in it, you can mix your own saline solution at home. Dissolve one teaspoon of sea salt or table salt in an ounce of lukewarm water. Use that water to clear out your sinuses. It’s totally safe.

Retpo is right, it’s just salt and water, so it won’t interact.
However, if you buy a Saline solution, it won’t have any other chemicals in it unless it’s listed on the bottle. Saline solution doesn’t need preservatives because of the nature of it… germs can’t grow in it, so there should be no reason for anything else in it unless it’s some complex (like an eyedrop or nasal spray with added medicines, for example).
That being said, a Saline solution is a 1% salt solution, so it would be 1/4 teaspoon of salt (preferably sea/natural salt) per 3.5 ounces of water… the 1 tsp per oz that retpo mentioned would be over a 16% solution and could be irritating to your system (especially used as a nasal or eye rinse).
Good luck!
